Cherry Cake
Makes 24 servings.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 egg yolk
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup walnuts chopped
- I jar maraschino cherries
- 3 egg white
- milk
Directions:
drain cherries, saving liquid. Cut cherries into four pieces. Add milk to liquid to 3/4 cup. Mix dry ingredients
together. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Add flour and cherry juice mixture alternately. Add
cherries and walnuts. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into batter.
Bake in greased pan at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
