French Toast

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf French bread sliced 1 inch thick
  • 6 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 cup light cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup margarine softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar firmly packer
  • 1/2 cup walnuts chopped
  • 1 tablespoon corn syrup, light
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions:
Butter a 9” square pan. Arrange bread, overlapping. Combine milk, eggs, cream, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix well. Pour over bread and chill overnight. Combine butter, walnuts, sugar and corn syrup. Spread over bread. Bake 40 minutes at 350 degrees or until puffed and golden.
