Keflie (Mrs. Gathy’s)

Makes 72 servings.
Ingredients:

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 pound butter
  • 1/2 pint sour cream
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
mix dry ingredients together. Mix butter, sour cream, sugar, egg yolks and vanilla together. Make well in flour. Add sour cream mixture and mix well. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. Cut off 1/4 of the dough and leave remainder in refrigerator until ready to use. Roll on floured surface to approximately 24 round. Cut into 2’ squares. Fill with nuts, lekvar or apricot filling. Bake on greased cookie sheet 12 to 15 minutes at 350 degrees - bottom tray/7 minutes; turn, top tray! 7 minutes.
Nut filling:

  • two parts nuts
  • one part confectioners sugar
  • beaten egg whites to moisten
