Nut Bread

Ingredients:

  • 5 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 7 eggs separated
  • 3/4 pound margarine
  • 1 cup milk
  • I package yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk

Nut Mixture:

  • 3 cups chopped walnuts
  • 1 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
  • 7 egg white beaten

Directions:
Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm milk. Sift dry ingredients together. Add butter - mix; add egg yolks, 1 cup milk and yeast - mix. Add flour and knead (will remain tacky). Flour bottom of bowl mixed in and return dough and cover. Refrigerate 2 hours. Cut into 5 pieces, roll into a 12” x 15 rectangle and spread with nut mixture 1/8 thick (leave 1/2 at edge bare). Let sit for 15 minutes. Brush top with beaten egg. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
