Nut Cake

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs separated
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening. Add egg yolks. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk. Add nuts, vanilla and stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake in greased pan at 375 degrees for 40 minutes.
