Pound Cake
Ingredients:
- 2 3/4 cups sugar
- 1 1/4 cups butter softened
- 5 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup evaporated milk
Directions:
Beat sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla in large bowl at low speed, scraping bowl constantly, 30 seconds. Beat on high speed, scraping bowl occasionally, for 5 minutes. All flour, baking powder and salt alternately with milk. Beat at low speed. Bake at 350 degrees in greased tube pan for 70 to 80 minutes. Cook 20 minutes before removing from pan.
The 1 teaspoon vanilla can be substituted - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and 1/2 teaspoon almond extract.
